Paolo Mazzanti is an assistant researcher at MICC since March 2005.
He graduated cum laude in Theoretic Philosophy from University of Florence with a thesis on “Perception and Subjectivity in the Philosophy of Mind” (1999). Post graduated from the University of Florence in “Master in Multimedia Content Design ” (2001) and also in “Master in Planning and Communication of Cultural Heritage ” (2007). with a thesis on ““Emotion and Learning in the fruition of the Cultural Heritage”. He attended professional course for expert in digital cultural contents creation – Italian Digital Library e Touristic Cultural Network– ICCU – Ministry of Cultural Heritage- E-Learning2 2008 Project (2008)
His research interests focus on graphic/web design, multimedia applications and digital media tools for user interaction, cultural heritage digitization, creative ideas for museum learning and new forms of audience and digital engagement. He was involved in the project DanThe – Digital and Tuscan heritage – (the Tuscany portal of digital collections) and in the european project ENRICH .
He is NEMO – The Network of European Museum Organisations associate member representing MICC and he is part of NEMO’s working group network LEM – The Learning Museum.
He has won the @diversity European Competition in 2013 with the project named SMartART
He is also involved in the management of educational program of NEMECH, communication/networking, design and development of cultural projects. Concept of the interdisciplinary course on “Emotional Museum – Immersive & Emotional Museum Design”, tutor and member of Scientific Committee together with Prof Alberto Del Bimbo and Arch. Lorenzo Greppi.

“I like photography and visual communication. I like also the hard challenge, in fact I am a webdesigner although I am also colour-blind. I believe in the dialogue between cultural and technical sectors, maybe this is the reason why I work with all engineers even though I graduated in Philosophy. When I travel to a new city I visit at least one museum trying to discover something new about emotion, enjoyment and learning. About perception and creative act I agree with a famous artist (M.
